The 2018 Southern New Mexico State Fair & Rodeo is excited to bring you a fair week jam-packed with rodeo action, fun and excitement.

We will start with the most popular rodeo event….a bull riding on Wednesday night. The Rumble on the Rio, Last Man Standing will provide several thrilling rounds of bull riding until only one rider remains. Hi Lo Pro Rodeo and Barker Bulls will be bringing in professional bull riders from all over the region to compete for money and prizes on some of the best bucking bulls in the country, many of which you have seen at PBR competitions!

Before the bull riding kicks off come meet the cowboys in the Fan Zone. Enjoy activities for kids and adults alike. This will be an interactive family atmosphere that you don't want to miss. There will also be a youth barrel race at the conclusion of the bull riding event. Come out to cheer on these fast riding cowgirls.


Thursday, September 27, 2018
On Thursday night, the NMSU Rodeo Team will be in the arena to compete against other teams in the Grand Canyon Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, including the states of New Mexico and Arizona, in a sanctioned NIRA rodeo. Our Aggies, with the girl’s team sitting first in the nation for 2018 will be starting a new season looking to earn qualifications to the College National Finals Rodeo.


Friday, September 28 & Saturday, September 29, 2018
	Friday and Saturday nights the Pete Domenici Arena will be the home of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association with contestants coming from all over the US to compete for the $2000 per event added money. Hi Lo ProRodeo Company, one of the fastest growing stock contractors in the nation, will be bringing the best in bucking stock and the fastest roping and doggin’ animals to add to the excitement. The SNMSF has the reputation for putting on an outstanding rodeo, and this year will be no different!!

On Sunday, it's Race at the Rodeo - the Barrel race is a 4D Open and a 4D Youth Race
(13 and under). We will run exhibitions @ 10:30 a.m. and the race will start @ 1:00 p.m.
